New shirt!

Price: £7.

Honestly, these will be made using Primark shirts: if these sell okay, we'll make a move onto Ethical Threads shirts :)

These will be available on the webstore fron Monday :)

Hi guys!

It's very busy here at Canvases For Cures HQ!
At the moment we are building a gallery for our website to show off the skills of all you amazing artists out there!

But we have a problem, we have had hardly any art submissions so far, and to have a gallery, we need artwork!

We need artwork related to music. You could have been listening to a song and wanted to draw. You may have done a portrait of your favourite singer. You may have designed some music-related tattoos. You may have taken some photos at a gig, or been taking photographs on your way to a show, anything.

We need images no bigger than 1024 x 768, a PNG or a JPG format, sent to CanvasesForCures@hotmail.com with your name, information on the piece and your t-shirt size on the e-mail.

The best artwork, as judged by the C4C staff, will be featured especially on the website, and put into a gallery of distinction, AND will have full-page spreads in our first book, when it is published.

The artists will also win Canvases For Cures shirts, badges/buttons and their choice of one other of a selection of merchandise!

How ace is that?!

So get submitting, and cross your fingers to win!

FYI & help needed! [Sep. 26th, 2008|01:22 pm]

I changed the About Me section on our MySpace.

It now reads like this )

We're working on merch and it will be available soon.

Also, what bands do you think we should add to the MySpace? Who would you want to see create artwork for this? Whose fans would you think would be up for this kind of thing? Thoughts please :)

Remember, if you want to ask us questions, send us artwork or volunteer for us, we're available at canvasesforcures@hotmail.com.

Love love!

Help me design C4C merch! [Sep. 22nd, 2008|12:13 am]

We love your feedback, and you love nifty clothes, right?

We started designing more merch for C4C so when we publically launch properly you guys can represent the movement. We always hand paint stuff first.

I started to paint a top tonight, and here it is so far... )

I haven't even started on the left hand side yet, but what I want to know is;

what colours should I paint the little dude?

I don't want him to be natural colours. Thoughts?

Hello our lovely supporters! Sorry for the silence, I am the world's biggest procrastinator, hence why all my days in a week are themed and Wednesdays are now Canvases For Cures days.

Sadly though, by the time I got back from work I had about 2 hours to myself.

In that time...

I wrote a basic letter to the charities, and I want to know what you think. )
I would love to know what you guys think, if we need to add anything else in. Obviously, the charity name in the letter (theirs, not ours) will be edited depending on who we are sending it to.

In case anyone has forgotten, until we reach a status big enough to fund projects on our own, we're going to "adopt" three charities for our money to benefit.

1. Macmillan Cancer Trust
2. Samaritans
3. NSPCC

This was something I found out about on the Samaritans site and I think it would be a great place for us to start, and a great project to support and publicise. Samaritans are a charity I think that could help anyone, and they could be relevant in everyone's lives at some point.

At the moment, that's all. Next week, I'm planning on a major MySpace zap, adding loads of friends, and I'm going to try and find out what's going on with the website.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be ace.

1. Promotion/Street Team )

2. Graphics )

3. Shirts )

I think that's everything right now. There's another idea the crew are currently discussing that could open this up a tonne.

Please let me know what you think! If you have any ideas, either comment with or post them on this community, or e-mail them to us. Canvasesforcures@hotmail.com.

Hello new people! Welcome to the LJ home for Canvases For Cures.

Please use this place for any ideas that could help us. Any questions for staff? Fire away.

You guys are probably sensible, so I don't want to have a million tonnes of rules. Just be good to each other and help us get this off the ground and flying.

Emma, your friendly founder/maintainer/mod.
